Always Behind - by Brad

I feel like the last couple months have been a blur and we haven't had time to take pictures of the kids, let alone, blog about anything. Today Lindsey is in Seattle getting her LASIK eye surgery and I am home with the boys. It will be fun for her to not need glasses or contacts anymore! While Spencer is relaxing in front of the electronic babysitter (the TV), I am trying to catch up organizing and posting a few photos. So here we go...

We purchased tickets to the Wenatchee Wild and took the boys to their first hockey game. The teams were tied most of the game, and then with less than one second left on the clock, the other team scored a goal and the Wild lost. A very disappointing end to an exciting evening...

Lindsey and I have never celebrated Valentines Day. There is something about forced romance that we have never appreciated... I don't think I have ever appreciated any type of romance, but at least Lindsey and I can agree on this one. Nonetheless, Lindsey recalled good childhood memories of her mom making a special valentines dinner, so she did the same for the boys. We invited my sister over and Lindsey prepared some lamb, potatoes, and creme brulee for dessert. Sorry, the oranges are in the way, so you can't see the dessert Lindsey is burning (or whatever the culinary term is for that)...

Even with all the busyness, we have had a chance to spend some time with good friends. Spencer and Garrett putting on a show with the "Paper Jamz" guitars...

I took Elliott and Ellie for a hike on the hill behind us. We were trying to find deer antlers, but we didn't have any luck. We still had fun though...

Lindsey has been looking into the booth-style kitchen tables for quite some time to save a little space. She found this setup online for a few hundred less than any of the local furniture stores could get it...  yeah, yeah, I know we didn't support local business, but we supported our local wallet. The boys enjoyed some root beer floats right after we got it put together...

Spencer dipping pickles in apple sauce, yum...

A little wrestling in the grass after practicing some baseball...

Sorry there was no theme to tie this all together, but right now it's all I have just to throw some pictures up with a little rambling here and there. Until next year...

Hey-we don't need a tie-in, it's just fun to see pics and hear what you've been up to. I like the idea of making V-day a family event--that's kind of the vibe we are going for here too. Can't wait to hear how Lindsey's lasik went!
