Memorial Weekend Fun (and a mouse) - by Brad

For this Memorial Day weekend, we decided to check out a state park that we hadn't been to before, so we headed up to camp at Sun Lakes State Park for Friday night. The scenery is great if you enjoy being in the middle of a large sage-brushy canyon (which I do).

The park is a little way further down the canyon than you can see in this picture, but this is what the area looks like...

There was some campfire making...

Some playing in the tent...

Some kite flying, when the wind gusts allowed...

A lot of playing in the lake...

And a little bit of trying-to-look-cool-with-a-dirty-face...

We had to come home Saturday night to be at church the next morning. When we got home, Lindsey found evidence of another mouse in our pantry. So I set a trap and within an hour we heard a snap and some thumping around. After the thumping around died down, I saw a mouse take its last few breaths before it died. This one was not nearly as cute as the last one we caught. We still can't figure out how they are getting into our house, but I could see how they got into our pantry. So I spent Sunday afternoon making trim to go around the base of our pantry so mice can't get in anymore... as long as we close the pantry door.

Monday morning we headed out to Lincoln Rock Park with some friends. It was a nice lazy day watching the kids play and eating a lot of hot dogs.

Elliott, Wesley, and Sarah playing on the inflatable tube...

When he wasn't getting into everything, Spencer spent the rest of his time on his "motorcycle"...

I have always wondered, what exactly is the point of that weird mesh stuff in boys' swimming shorts? How annoying!
