Easter '09 - by Brad

This may be almost a week late, but here is our Easter post.

Sunglasses are a standard gift in the boys' Easter baskets. They never last all summer. One pair already needs to be super-glued.

Lindsey thought it would be economical to put things in their Easter baskets that we were planning to buy them anyway. They all need beach towels for summer, so that is what they got.

Elliott excited about his towel...

Wesley excited about his towel...

Spencer... and his towel...

Wesley enjoying his breakfast of champions... Peeps...

Wesley being, um, I'm not sure what Wesley is doing. He is still an uncooperative picture takee (yes, takee, as in the picture taker and the picture takee).

After church we headed over to my parents' house for an afternoon with them them and the Smiths. (More pictures at my parents' blog). One of the highlights was the Easter egg hunt. My dad set up many eggs in their rock wall.

Elliott making the big reach. His hand was only stuck for a few minutes...

Wesley showing off his find...

Spencer showing off his find...

I think Spencer was making a statement that Easter is not about the eggs, but about finding the stone rolled away and the tomb empty.

OK, the picture of Spencer and his towel made me laugh out loud. Literally. None of this cheesy "LOL" stuff that everyone throw around these days. I mean it was a vocal guffaw. Then with the rock? He is too funny.

It's great to hear that your 2 year old has a excellent grasp on the real meaning of Easter. :) The pictures are great. Can't wait to be there in person to see you all.
