Four Pleasing Events - by Brad

1) My repaired guitar was delivered yesterday! I have been without it for almost two months. The preamp went bad, so it was replaced with an upgraded preamp with a built-in tuner. There was also a crack in the back that they repaired so well that you can hardly tell there was a crack! Thanks to my cousin-in-law and Portland Fret Works!

2) Due to gross negligence on our part, we killed our last fish a couple days ago! I emptied out the fish tank last night and put in the garage. We feel a little bad because, on occasion, Wesley would pray to keep our last fish from dying. Apparently God decided not to work a miracle this time because without food, light, or circulating water, our zebra danio still died. Two years of fish was enough for us... Lindsey and I decided that we are not pet-people and we should never be entrusted with a dog or cat.

3) See previous post.

4) An appraiser came by our house this morning as one of the steps in the refinancing process. I met with our bank a couple weeks ago and we are able to shave a year-and-a-half off the term of our loan and reduce our monthly payments by $150. At least effects of the recession are not ALL bad. Thanks to my brother-in-law for putting this idea in my head.

Peabs - I think I have heard your Griffey story, but you will have to refresh my memory.

my one and only Mariners game (long drive from portland) some guy approaches me and my dad in line. "just the two of you?" yes, we said. Hands us two tickets for the 8th row, right behind home plate "take these, I can't use them"...bottom of the 9th, two outs, man on 1st and 3rd, M's down by 2. Griffey comes to the plate. Crowd goes ABSOLUTELY NUTS! Pitcher hurls the ball and Griffey takes his patented home-run swing at the first pitch.........and the ball dribbles to the first baseman for an out. Talk about a letdown. Two drunk guys actually jumped over the dugout and tried to bum-rush him...until they were tackled by security. I certain hope his homecoming is a bit more successful that that game!

Ah yes, that story is familiar... as in that's the way it goes when you have high hopes for a Seattle sports team. I expect to be let down by the Mariners, but that will also be nostalgic!

Glad the re-fi worked out! Ours is moving slow, but still on, with similar savings... Good stuff.
