Cruisin' the Main Drag - by Brad

Here is another video of craziness from our household. The boys were giving each other rides on a little toddler bus down our hallway. I would like to say that no children were harmed in the making of this video, but shortly after I stopped filming, Wesley smacked his mouth into Elliott's head and busted his lip a little. So, no children were permanently harmed in the making of this video...

Funny Boys - by Linz

The other day when Wesley got up from his nap, I asked him if he really slept or if he just stayed awake the whole time. He looked at me and in a lecturing tone said, "Mom, I've been nocturnal...that means I sleeped in the day."

Elliott got a new Wii game called endless ocean. Mostly you just swim around and identify fish. As a result he has become quite the expert on sea life. Yesterday he was watching "Diego, Underwater Rescue" with his brothers. There is one part where Diego looks through a periscope and says, "Look at that! It's a mystery fish!" Elliott perked right up and said, "That's not a mystery fish, it's a Whale Shark. Don't you even know, Diego?"

In Safeway today Wes and I were discussing which kind of pop to get for the boys. I had a coupon for free 2 liter, so I was going to let Wes choose a fun flavor. I was explaining that they have lemon lime pop and orange pop, etc. Then Spencer looks at me, tilts his head to one side and says, "How 'bout lollipop?"

Boys in a Box - by Brad

Last night, Lindsey cut a couple holes in a Diet Coke box and gave it to the boys to play around with. It actually entertained them for almost an hour and Wesley was asking for it again this morning.

Four Pleasing Events - by Brad

1) My repaired guitar was delivered yesterday! I have been without it for almost two months. The preamp went bad, so it was replaced with an upgraded preamp with a built-in tuner. There was also a crack in the back that they repaired so well that you can hardly tell there was a crack! Thanks to my cousin-in-law and Portland Fret Works!

2) Due to gross negligence on our part, we killed our last fish a couple days ago! I emptied out the fish tank last night and put in the garage. We feel a little bad because, on occasion, Wesley would pray to keep our last fish from dying. Apparently God decided not to work a miracle this time because without food, light, or circulating water, our zebra danio still died. Two years of fish was enough for us... Lindsey and I decided that we are not pet-people and we should never be entrusted with a dog or cat.

3) See previous post.

4) An appraiser came by our house this morning as one of the steps in the refinancing process. I met with our bank a couple weeks ago and we are able to shave a year-and-a-half off the term of our loan and reduce our monthly payments by $150. At least effects of the recession are not ALL bad. Thanks to my brother-in-law for putting this idea in my head.

A Chance to Relive My Childhood (sort of) - by Brad

What I briefly hoped for last year is now coming true. Ken Griffey Jr. is going to play for the Mariners this year!

I will have to attend at least one Mariner's game this upcoming season. Hearing his name announced over the loud speaker will sure bring back memories from my childhood. I had lost interest in baseball (I even started following the Seahawks), but this will bring me back to the M's. Good move!

Hike, Pacie, Bed, Wedding, Tractor - by Brad

A couple weeks ago, Lindsey and Elliott went to Spokane to look for wedding clothes for Elliott (no, he didn't get married yet - see below). While they were away, Wesley and Spencer wanted to go hiking. I threw Spencer in the backpack and Wesley hiked all the way up Castle Rock. Here Wesley is resting half-way up...

One night we couldn't find a pacifier (or pacie as Spencer calls it), so we decided to put Spencer to bed without it. We were ready to do this ever since he turned two. I just sat him down, explained to him that we had no pacifiers, rocked him for a couple minutes and put him to bed. He didn't complain a bit. And that was that.

Since that went so well, we decided to bring down the "big kid bed" from the attic to switch him over from his crib. It works pretty well during at night, but at nap time he feels the need to get up... over and over again. His crib is still next to his bed, so he has had to use that a couple times during nap.

The first night, the boys were able to watch a movie in their room from Spencer's "new" bed...

Spencer's first night...

On Saturday, we went to Lindsey's cousin's wedding in Spokane. Elliott was the ring-bearer. This was his first time in a wedding...

After the wedding - Lindsey and her boys...

Spencer and his profile...

Elliott with wedding bubbles...

And a miscellaneous picture from yesterday. Yesterday afternoon (and today) we finally had a chance to relax. Lindsey was on the couch and Spencer was sitting in the window sill playing with his tractor. He was being cute enough to warrant a picture...
