Today, Spencer finally decided to take his first steps. Just shy of 14 months old. We have known that he could walk if he wanted to, but we finally figured out the motivation he needed... Chocolate chips.
Our official "toddler" demonstrating his skills...

That's the only way Mike can get me up too.
Way to go Spencer! I can't believe how much he's growing up. And I love how excited Elliott was for him.
On another note- Lindsey- your hair is really cute.
how funny! I didn't realize Becky had commented and this is what I was going to say. "hey, I'd take a walk for some chocolate chips! And Lindsey, you and becky have the same cute haircut!"
Go figure. Becky and I think alike. That is scary.
We knew he could do it. He just needed the right motivation! It was fun to be there last night and see him demonstrate his skill in person. Thanks for posting this - I'll alert Gail to check your blog!
I walk for chocolate chips too. :) He is doing really well. Now you are going to get even busier.
How exciting!! I am so glad that Spencer is walking. I can't view the video, but I trust ya'. He sure is growing!
Hooray! Yeah for Spence. Soon he'll be running after the big boys! So, oh ye parents of sly trickery, do you guys have any tricks for keeping big boys in their big boy beds?
Well...
Our "trick" to get Elliott to stay in his bed was a large spoon applied swiftly to his posterior, often repeatedly. It took a few nights, but he figured it out.
Wesley somehow knew better... probably by the learned wisdom of his older brother.
Yah, Spencer! Too cute!
