Unexpected Adventure - by Linz

So....we are driving along in the car and Wesley asks for a tic-tac. This is a common occurrence. So I hand one back to him and it is quiet for a few minutes; as it would be when a kid is eating a tic-tac. Then Wes says, "I put it in my nose." I didn't really realize what he said so I replied, "Don't put things in your nose, buddy." Then he said "I already did, way up my nose." Oh great! We have to pick up Elliott from school!

We were in the parking lot of Elliott's school when the sweet layer of the tic-tac dissolved and the minty-freshness kicked in. Wes' eyes were watering and he was crying to get it out. What was I supposed to do? So I asked him to blow his nose...nothing. I said we would just have to wait a bit. His suggestion was to go home and "get it out with a fork, or maybe a tiny toy sword". I told him that sticking another thing up his nose was probably not the best plan. (And then I laughed for a while...because well, it's a pretty funny scenario)

After I regained my composure, I called the nurse and asked what she thought we should do. She said I should probably bring him in. So we picked up Brad for his lunch break and headed off to see Dr. Eisert. By the time we got there the tic-tac had mostly dissolved and all he had to do was blow his nose. Whew! Our pediatrician was kind and said he wouldn't be charging us to blow my son's nose!

A Little Easter Recap - by Brad

Getting up early Sunday morning, the boys and their baskets...

After church we headed to my parents for an afternoon of food and an Easter egg hunt. The boys loved finding the eggs, but the highlight was the slinkies they got.

And after a long hunt Spencer found a raccoon to snuggle...

A Desk And Some Drama - by Linz

Spencer climbed into Elliott's school desk the other day and was so proud of himself. I quickly grabbed the camera and started snapping photos. I was getting some great shots...

...then I heard a loud scream downstairs. So I put the camera down and ran to see what was happening. Wesley had thrown a cup down from the top bunk bed and hit Elliott square in the forehead (which has been the site of quite a few injuries lately...but that's for another post). So I calmed the screaming child, disciplined the throwing-cup child, and then I remembered that I do, in fact, have three children. So I ran upstairs to find Spencer...still at the desk...still happy about it!

200th Post - by Brad

This marks our 200th post since we started blogging in November 2005. I thought about putting together some amazing photo/music slide show of all our posts, reminiscing about everything we have posted, both cute and boring... but I don't have that kind of time. So instead, I am just going to post more pictures of us over the past week.

Lindsey got a shot of me playing Tetris and Spencer playing the remote control.

With our tax return, we finally bought the boys a bunk bed. The first couple nights Elliott said he couldn't wait to go to bed... unusual words coming from him. Since Elliott and Wesley can't see each other like they could before they were bunked, they have to say their "good-nights" before bed...

Elliott was trying to run past Lindsey and he smacked his head on the corner of our desk. He got a nice deep cut on his forehead, but he survived. This came about a week after he fell and rolled down our wood stairs. Anyway, we had a quiet Saturday yesterday. Elliott spent a lot of the day playing Legos...

Lindsey was at the computer and ended up with all three boys on her lap. Amid the craziness, we were able to get one cute picture...

As I was typing this, Lindsey was shopping at Safeway. She just got home, pulled a bag out of the car and a bottle of Tabasco slipped out of a hole and busted open on our garage floor. I wiped it up with a cloth and tried rinsing it out. My nostrils are still on fire.

Spencer's First Steps - by Brad

Today, Spencer finally decided to take his first steps. Just shy of 14 months old. We have known that he could walk if he wanted to, but we finally figured out the motivation he needed... Chocolate chips.

Our official "toddler" demonstrating his skills...

Sunday Afternoon - by Brad

Lindsey went shopping this afternoon so the boys and I took advantage of the 50 degree sunny weather and played in the back yard for a while. Spencer enjoyed sitting in the grass and playing with sticks. It was a good thing that he didn't like to crawl in the grass because there is quite a bit of deer poop (recurring theme) scattered around our yard. He was safely placed in a clean spot.

Lindsey signed Elliott up for tee ball this spring, so we went out and bought a bat and a few balls. Then we went to a baseball field and played around for a while...

I hesitated posting this picture because there were several short lobs that Wesley actually did hit. However, I thought it was cute, so here it is...

Since I couldn't pitch the ball and take pictures at the same time, I gave Elliott the camera and told him to try to catch a picture of mom hitting the ball. Lindsey successfully made contact (using a 24" bat) and Elliott captured what I think was the best photo of the day...

We topped off the afternoon with dinner at Red Robin. Lindsey had the Cajun Clucks and Fries (as usual), I had the 5-Alarm Burger, and the boys split some chicken strips. It was a good day.
