Puttin' Up a Few Photos - by Brad

Another sleeping picture. Nothing funny, just my sleepy little boy...

I know Spencer's hair is a little crazy. I hope it isn't as bad as Wesley's was at this age. I need to convince Lindsey to let me buzz him, but sometimes you can't see how goofy your own kid looks...

We went to Spokane last weekend and Elliott played at a water park with his cousins Eden and Amy. Lindsey got a good picture of Elliott practicing his levitation skills...

This photo was taken moments before Elliott stood Spencer up and dropped him flat on his face. Don't worry, Spencer made it out okay. I was (un)fortunate enough to capture it on video, but I am choosing not to post it because it is pretty shocking... if you really want to see it, you can come over to our house and watch it...

Here I am!

Baby Tricks - by Brad

Don't worry, I didn't do both of these in one motion.

I do have to credit the "UP" trick to Toby. I remember seeing him do that to his kids.

DDR Boys - by Brad

Elliott and Wesley were playing "Dance Dance Revolution." Elliott gets pretty serious about it, even though he probably only hits 1 out of 20. Wesley, doesn't even try to hit the arrows. He just wanders around on the dance pad.

Frequent Blog Image Problems - by Brad

I have noticed quite often that some blogged images won't always link to the larger version when you click on them. This seems to be a bug with blogger that some of the html code goes missing when you publish. Well, the larger image is out there somewhere, and here is how you can find it...

1) Right click on the uncooperative image and select "Properties."

2) You should see an "Address" field that shows all kinds of weird characters in a web address. Make sure you highlight the entire address (sometimes you have to click and drag down to copy all of the text). Copy the text by selecting Ctrl + c.

3) Go to your browser's web address bar and paste the address (Ctrl + v).

4) The second-to-the-last section of the web address will be something like "/s320/". Change this to "/s1600-h/". Then hit enter.

This works especially well for Peaby's latest post in which none of his glorious images enlarge. [If you did this on purpose for some creative property rights... well, I just hacked your images!]

There is a way that YOU the blogger can fix this by editing your post, but you have to mess around with html quite a bit. I can dive into that later if blogger never fixes this problem... or if anyone really cares.

4th of July - by Linz

Not too sure about sparklers.

Cousin Jake enjoying the show.

Watching is fun, listening...not so much!

I had fun trying to get a good shot of the fireworks display.

Okay then... moving on... - by Brad

That last post was certainly more than I expected.

During our weekend in Lincoln City, Wesley and I were waiting in the car and I heard Wesley doing some funny beat-boxing. There is a Space Ghost cartoon character named Brak, and we have a couple goofy mp3's of the cartoon segments on Lindsey's iPod which the boys like to listen to. This is the audio clip pertinent to this post...

It must have been several days or weeks since Wes had heard this, so he didn't quite get the words right...

Knights of Foamelot - by Brad

Yesterday afternoon we took the boys to a park to have a picnic. When we arrived, we saw about 20 boys (probably high school and college age) beating each other with large padded bats. It looked like they were getting ready to have a gladiator-style battle. Several of them had medieval costumes and were shouting odd phrases at each other (apparently magical battle spells).

I would have taken video of this, but I didn't want to look weird... Rather, I tried to be sneaky and got a picture of what was going on. So for your visual pleasure…

Lindsey wanted to ask them what they were doing, but I was afraid they might pummel her with foam. So when we got home, I did a little research about this type of stuff. I ended up finding a website for
Dagorhir Battle Games… and all I can say is… wow. I normally try not to make fun of people, but these guys seem to be in the same category as those who attend Star Trek conventions.

I am a little disappointed that I missed Ragnarok XXII in Ohio just a couple weeks ago.

Just in case one of these
live action role-playing (LARP) gamers comes and hunts me down… I better go buy my own foam padded weapon to defend myself!
