Wenatchee on Letterman - by Brad

I saw a reference to this in our local newspaper. Wenatchee really isn't as hillbilly as our newspaper makes us sound...

Confused - by Brad

Spencer has obtained a few nicknames provided by his brothers. Spencinator, Spencer-dencer, and the latest... Spencedale. I am not sure where they come up with these.

Here are the few faces of Spencer...

CONFUSED...

CONFUSED...

and ANGRY AND CONFUSED! (classy spit bubbles man)

Elliott and Wesley have been wanting to see Spencer a lot... even when we don't want them to. Four-on-a-chair was fun... for a while... until the oldest boy got out of hand.

All In a Days Work - by Linz

I have the best job in the world! Spending the day in the company of Elliott and Wesley makes for some pretty comical conversation. I am sure there is something to be said for spending the day in an office with well-educated adults, but I prefer the laughter provided by the innocence of my kids!

Here are some funny quotes from today:

While pretending to talk on the phone with Wes, I said, "What should we talk about?" He replied, "I don't know, Jesus and Bob the Builder."

I asked Elliott to "baby-sit" Spencer while I put Wesley to bed. After a few seconds of Spencer crying Elliott shouted to me, "Mom, I could use a little help here."

Elliott while playing his Starwars game: "Mom did you read a lot about Starwars?" Me:
"No"
"Well then how did you learn about it?"

Elliott asked me if he could have "Spray" to drink instead of milk because he has a cold...and by "Spray" he mean Sprite.

When I asked Wesley to leave Spencer alone while he slept he looked at me while shrugging his shoulders and said, "I just hugging and smooching him."

What a way to spend the day!

Random - by Brad

Since more attention has been given to Spencer in the last couple weeks, that means Elliott and Wesley get less attention. Thus, they are left to themselves to find new things to play with... most recently my ski goggles...

Of course Spencer is growing. At his two week appointment he had already gained two pounds since birth. The last couple days he has been a bit of a restless sleeper... fun for us.

This morning some fog rolled across the hills behind our house. I snapped this picture of Castle Rock through our neighbor's trees.

Funny Moment to Share - by Brad

Elliott and Wesley have been listening to a new VeggieTales CD at night before they go to bed. One of the songs on the CD has a chorus that goes, "Sing hosanna, sing hosanna, sing hosanna to the King of Kings."

Well, this afternoon we heard Elliott singing, "Sing oh Santa, sing oh Santa, sing oh Santa to the King of Kings."

When I asked if he was singing "hosanna" he replied, "No, it's oh Santa, it's a Christmas song."

Life with 3...not what I expected - by Linz

I have to admit when I found out that I was having our third boy, I was a bit nervous. Life with three little boys just sounds busy and kind of crazy!

I was fully expecting to feel overwhelmed with our third baby, but instead I feel like life is just right!

I was worried the time commitment of feeding a baby every 3 hours (and what the boys would do with that time!) But that has become one of the great and unexpected things about having a new baby. Every 3 hours I stop what I am doing and sit still long enough for Elliott and Wesley to hang out an chat with me.

I also have come to appreciate what good boys Elliott and Wesley are. Elliott can entertain himself for quite a long time with Legos, Star Wars toys or books. He is great about including Wesley in everything he does. He is very willing to help me with small jobs like throwing out diapers, fetching burp rags...pretty much everything I ask him to do. (Although he told me the other day "I don't really like doing jobs, but I am good at them so I do them anyway") Wesley is very content to sit by himself and play with toys or read a book, but he is also a great sport about playing along with whatever Elliott wants to play. (He is falling right into the middle child role.)

But what I have become most grateful for is Brad. He took a lot of time off work and has been an amazing help with all three boys. He is up with Spencer at night and up with the boys in the morning. And still making sure that I am getting enough rest and some time to myself. He is taking great care of his family. (Thanks Brad!)

So I know next week Brad will go back to work and I will be on my own, but I feel much more prepared for that challenge now that I have seen how God has prepared my family for this new phase of life.

11 Days Old - by Brad

Spencer is 11 days old and I feel that a few more pictures should be posted. With just the right poking, he occasionally smiles for us. It is probably more of a twitch - trying to get us to stop poking - but he looks cute when he does it.

He just had a bath, so please don't judge him by his hair... and our couch is really staticy. We promise that we won't let his hair get like Wesley's. I have already mentioned shaving his hair into a mohawk, but Lindsey wasn't for it. It probably wouldn't look too good anyway since it is a little thin in the front.

And just another picture of our three boys... Elliott and Wesley sure do love the new addition.
