Less Talk, More Action - by Brad

I noticed that the last few posts have been just words. Some people actually like to read words, but others (myself included) like pictures. So here we go...

Here is Wesley, being Wesley (ie. somber, pensive)...

Elliott getting some use out of Lindsey's drum set (as discussed in the preceeding bjournaling)...

Lindsey found a St. Patricks Day project for Elliott to make. Apparently Elliott has mastered the leprechaun face...

And Wesley... again being Wesley...

These two brothers appear to be at such opposite ends of the personality spectrum. Elliott is very hyper, always talking, and always moving. Wesley however, is quite calm. He likes to walk around singing and following close to his parents. Good times.

How lucky can one girl be? - by Linz

Well this is a little late but...

I got a drum set! Whoo-hoo!! I have been playing on the set at church while the youth group is practicing for worship. I just tried it one day and as it turns out, I can keep a beat. So, right away I loved it! What's not to love about getting to be loud and hit stuff? So as it turns out our drummer didn't show up to youth group one night...enter my chance to play a worship set. It was basic, but fun. And I didn't even throw Brad off when he was leading.

So when Brad got home from his trip two weeks ago, he walked in the door holding a bass drum and said, "will this color work for ya?" (It was red. My favorite!) Needless to say I was ecstatic! Now my job is to find the time to practice. So far the best time is when the boys are napping. Elliott and Wes are almost as excited as I am about the new set. It's considerably more difficult to practice with Elliott playing the high hat (which he has claimed as "his new instruments") and Wes kicking the bass drum pedal...chaos! Very enjoyable chaos.

Out-laws - by Brad

This weekend was rather lively. Friday night, Lindsey's sister and daughters came over to spend the weekend at our house. Needless to say, with four little kids at our house, it was quite chaotic. They all seem to bring out the craziness in each other. All four of them slept in one room, which just happened to be right across the hall from our room. After staying up late, they all enjoyed waking us up at 6:30 each morning.

Anyway, on Saturday, I started on our landscaping because we had a fairly nice day. I did a lot of digging in our front yard. We are trying to terrace portions of our yard with hand-stacked rock walls. For this we need rocks. So I went to my father-in-law's house, loaded up a couple thousand pounds of rock, and then unloaded them at our house. It was actually fun to get to start on our landscaping.

Sunday was a beautiful day, and was dedicated to celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday, which of course, involved lots of eating. So I spent Sunday evening resting and recouping from a weekend of in-laws. My in-laws are the best. I just get overwhelmed with large doses of group socialization.

I was kept busy most of last week, and therefore I didn't have much time to ponder oddities. So unlike most of my posts, there are no new great philosophical thoughts today.
