Guy-dee & Bite - by Brad

Elliott chose the title to this entry (I chose the spelling). I have no idea what it means.

I think the shaved head and overalls make these pictures look goofier than they would have been otherwise...

D'oh - by Brad

If anyone is looking at our blog in response to the footnote on our Christmas letter, I want to apologize now if you were required to pay our 12 cent postage faux pas. Apparently, due to our decorative Christmas card knot, our parcels required a fat-tax. A number of these letters were returned to us, but approximately 35 went through… with postage due notices.

Therefore, if you need reimbursement, please send a self addressed stamped envelope to our home address, and we will fully reimburse you. Otherwise, next year we can include 12 cents to each one of our addressees.

In a season where “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays” was debated, we said “Trick-or-Treat”. You got the trick. Sorry.

We trust that you had a great Christmas, and hope that you did not curse our name or USPS for our unintentional mistake.

Punks - by Brad

Here are a couple recent pictures of the punks.

I still think his eyes are going to turn brown...

My G chord wasn't working so well here...

Here are the boys with their freshly shorn noggins...

That weird "V" is just his hair line. I really didn't give him that bad of a hair cut. It's just natural.

Edible Abodes - by Brad

Elliott and Wesley had their first gingerbread house experience this week with Grandpa. I think that they must have eaten more candy than they applied to the house. Anyway, here are a couple pictures, courtesy of Grandma.

Yes, that is Wesley dipping a spatula into a bowl of frosting and eating frosting the whole time. I don't think I would have been allowed to do that when I was one!

I think that Elliott decorated the roof using the "One for you, one for me" method.

Spare $200K? - by Brad

I decided to revisit space travel (posted Nov. 18th) after reading the following article:

CNN - Space Tourism

Apparently, the cost of the first flights to space will be much cheaper than first reported. The company Virgin Galactic (subsidiary of Virgin Atlantic) is offering flights for $200,000 as soon as 2008.

So, anyone got a couple hundred grand to spare?
I take cash and checks!

Pachyderms - by Brad

For us, tonight dawns the first of many Christmas parties… one for work… two related to youth group… one with some of our friends… and who knows what else will pop up.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them.

My question: Are multiple Christmas parties just a “coming of age” type deal, or is there a growing movement happening? If it is the latter, then pretty soon, Santa’s reindeer will be replaced with white elephants. I don’t know, but Rudolf the pale-trunked pachyderm just doesn’t have the same ring.

However, having multiple white elephant gift exchanges does make it easier to rotate junk. If you get a purple ceramic kitten cookie jar at one gift exchange, you can re-gift it at the next and nobody is the wiser. You may have to hold on to that hat with built-in dreadlocks for a year. But then, by chance, if you happen to come out with a die-cast 1975 AMC Pacer, you have conquered all.

Arranging, of sorts - by Brad

In light of Mike’s latest blog posting (see link to Bunch O’Blog), I decided to post this picture and say…

...someone needs to be a daddy!

I am sure that the he has received enough of this encouragement from family and friends since his only sister just had a baby, and his wife’s only sister is due pretty soon. Mike… our two boys are not getting any younger, and we need you to start having girls so we can do some bethrothing.
